Jay Steele, Nationally Recognized Education Reform Expert to Serve as NCAC's Executive Director
The Board of Directors of the National Career Academy Coalition at its recent annual meeting in Tampa selected Dr. Jay Steele of Steele Dynamics as its new Executive Director. Jay will assume the leadership of NCAC and manage the organization effective January 1, 2017.
Jay, well-known to those involved with educational transformation and career academies, recently concluded a two-year term as NCAC President while serving as the Executive Director, Great Lakes College and Career Pathways Partnership for Connect Ed. Most recently Jay served as the Chief Academic Officer for the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools where he led the transformation of Nashville’s high schools into the Academies of Nashville. Prior to MNPS, he had been the Director for Career Education in St. Augustine, FL and a former high school principal and middle school teacher. He holds an Ed.D. from Lipscomb University and other degrees from the University of North Florida and Western Kentucky University.

From its inception in 1996, NCAC’s mission has been to provide collaborative support and resources for existing and emerging career academies. NCAC advises, assists and advocates for its membership as well as all schools interested in the Career Academy Model.
